Admission through TANCET-2010

MCA students shall appear for the TANCET Examination conducted by the Anna University for admission into University departments.
Eligibility:
a. BCA/BES/BSc.-Computer Sc. / Mathematics /Applied Sciences/Physics/Statistics or
b. B.Com. / B.B.M. /B.B.A. /.B.L.M. /.B.A. Corporate Secretaryship / B.A. Economics /any other degree with Business Mathematics and Statistics or Mathematics/ Statistics in Main/Allied level or
c. B.Sc. Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics and Physics as allied subject or
d. B.E./ B.Tech. /M.B.A.or
e. Bachelors degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary level (i.e. in +2 level of the 10+2 pattern)

Last date for Issue and submission of application Form: Within 7 days from the date of publication of the results of TANCET by the Anna University along with a copy of the TANCET Marks obtained from Internet.

Application form for admission can also be downloaded from the University website at http://www. unom.ac.in/cbcspr.php However, the cost of application for Rs.300/- by means of Demand Draft shall be enclosed; otherwise the application will be summarily rejected.

The University reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centres and allot another centre closer to the centre cancelled.
Cost of Prospectus-cum-Application Form
For General & OBC Category Rs. 400/-
For SC/ST/PH Category Rs. 150/-

General Information:
Detailed information is given in the Prospectus-cum-Application Form 2010-11. Candidates who are appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree and expecting their results and certificates before 31st July 2010 are also eligible to apply.

Reservation of seats:
Reservation of seats shall be as per the GOI/UGC norms for SC/ST/OBC/PH and wards/dependants of defence personnel, Kashmiri migrants and foreign nationals/NRIs. Few seats are also provided to the nominees from some UT/NE states. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is also provided for SC/ST/PH categories.

How to apply:
Prospectus-cum-Application Forms can be obtained in person from the Academic Section, Office of the Controller of Examinations, Administration Building in the University Campus, Hyderabad – 500 046 against cash payment.
The Prospectus-cum-Application Form/s can also be obtained by ordinary post from the Dy. Registrar (Acad. & Exams), University of Hyderabad, P.O. Central University, Hyderabad – 500 046 by sending (a) a requisition, (b) one self-addressed adhesive sticker/slip, and (c) a crossed demand draft for the amount specified for the respective category i.e., Rs.450/- in the case of General & OBC Category and Rs. 200/- in the case of SC/ST/PH categories for each copy of Prospectus-cum-Application Form which includes Rs. 50/- towards the ordinary postal charges, drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad, on State Bank of India, Hyderabad Central University Campus Branch, Hyderabad (Code 5916) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad (Code 378). The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be downloaded from the University's website (available from 07.4.2010 to 3.5.2010) and the duly filled in application must be sent to the Dy. Registrar (Acad. & Exams) to the above address enclosing a bank draft of Rs.200/- for each course in the case of General and OBC Category and Rs.75/- for each course in the case of SC/ST/PH categories, so as to reach him before 03-05-2010.

Admission based on CST score

Based on the performance in the CST, candidate can apply for some jobs at different levels. Those are:

* Software trainee: Along with I level score, one should have B.E., B.Tech, BCA, B.Sc and polytechnic diploma in computers should be present. Monthly salary will be Rs. 11,300.
* Visiting systems: Software engineer: Along with D, G level score one should have any engineering degree or First class degree in computers/ IT/ electronics/ telecommunication/ electrical/ instrumentation and diploma from CDAC should be present. Monthly salary will be Rs. 15, 600 (consolidated pay).
* Project engineer/ assistant manager/ staff scientist or member technical staff/ senior staff scientist: Along with G level score, oneshould have engineering/ MCA/ M.Sc (computers)/ M.Sc (IT)/ M.Tech degree.

Institutes that offer admission based on score in CST:

* Students, who have minimum of 55 % in mathematics in intermediate level, with any degree and have got 50% marks in aptitude paper of any level CST, can directly join MCA in department of computer sciences, Goa University.
* Students, who have minimum of 50% in bachelors degree and based on merit in general aptitude score in CST and interview, can get admission into MCA course in Narsee Monjee institute of management.
* MCA admission can be attained from Alliance Business Academy, Benguluru based on the merit in computer concepts and general aptitude of level I or D in CST and who have minimum of 50% marks in bachelor degree having any one of the subjects of maths, statistics, computers and electronics.
* Admission into all PG courses can be attained in the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans centre for interdisciplinary studies, Mumbai based on the score in level E of CST and having degree with a minimum of 60 to 70 %.
* International school of management excellence, Benguluru, Navi Mumbai offers PGPM- IT course for the students who complete I/D/G levels of CST exam with a bachelors degree in computers or anyengineering degree.
